SYNOPSIS OF THE TALK
Both the speakers will be giving us an introduction to scope of charges, chargeable person, year of assessment & rate of tax; disposals and acquisitions; computation of RPGT; the respective duties of acquirer and disposer; Real Property Companies (RPC) and disposal of RPC shares. They will also touch on recent developments in RPGT and the recent amendments in the 2013 Budget.
ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Mr. N. Rajagopal worked with Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri for 33 years. The last position is as Principal Assistant Director with the Technical Division, IRB Headquarters – Providing advisory and technical advice on Malaysian tax laws. He is a practicing lawyer and is also a Part-time lecturer at various higher institutes of education-lecturing in Revenue Law including Land Taxation/RPGT.
Mr. K. Kanthaiah worked with Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri for 33 years. The last position is as Assistant Director at the National Tax Academy providing training for the staff. He is also a Lecturer at the National Tax Academy for seven years specialising in Revenue Law including Real Property Gains Tax.
MODERATOR
Mr. Chee Kong Chi, a senior member of the Malacca Bar, shall be introducing the two speakers at the talk and moderating the sessions.
