Malacca Bar’s Appreciation Dinner

Malacca Bar organised an appreciation dinner on 6.6.2008 at the premises of the Malacca Bar as an appreciation for Malacca Bar members who had given assistance and contribution in having successfully organised the recent Malaysia-Singapore Bench and Bar Games which was held from 1.5.2008 to 3.5.2008.

Delicious Indian delicacies were served during the dinner. Senior member of Malacca Bar, Mr. Low Tung Weng was given loud applause by members attending the dinner for his guidance, sharing of experience and tremendous help given to the organising committee of the Games. In his speech, Mr. Low advised the young members of Malacca Bar to participate more actively in the State Bar activities, especially the annual dinner.

Malacca Bar Chairman, Mr. Ng Kong Peng informed the participants at the dinner that when Malacca Bar was given the task to organise the Games, the Malacca Bar Committee members reacted positively to the challenge. He was proud that at the end, Malacca Bar managed to accumulate sufficient fund and successfully organise the Games notwithstanding the fact that it was only a small Bar.

Mr. Sekar Palaniandy, the Chairman of the organising committee of the Games, expressed his gratitude for members’ contribution. He told the members that organising the Games was a good experience for him and many participants of the Games told him that Malacca did a good job and had set a standard for the future organiser to follow.

The dinner ended with a lucky draw comprising of interesting prizes.
