The Young Lawyers and Chambering Pupils Sub-Committee (YLCP) of the Malacca Bar organized a workshop from 8.30AM to 5.00PM for pupils and young lawyers at the Malacca Bar Auditorium.
The following sessions were covered by various speakers:

This is the ninth year the workshop has been held, with senior members of the Bar making time to impart wisdom from their years of practice to young lawyers and pupils.
Objectives of the workshop:
(a) to forge closer ties between members of the Bar (especially those below 3 years in practice) and pupils;
(b) to expose lawyers and pupils to the challenges commonly faced by lawyers;
(c) to give an overview on civil, criminal and conveyancing matters, etiquette and decorum, and the functions of the Bar;
(d) to motivate young lawyers to persevere in practice and to encourage pupils to continue practising as lawyers after the end of their pupillage period; and
(e) to encourage participation in Bar activities.
The YLCP Sub-Committee thanks the speakers for their active participation in a noble cause, and hopes that the attendees have gained valuable insight into the various areas of practice, and discovered a higher calling in this profession after hearing from practitioners who have experienced and stayed in the field.
